I am going to be talking about climate change and the effects of it to help educate people on this topic as it’s something that people should know as it is happening a lot today in our world.
Climate change definition:
Climate change is a big shift either global or regional environment patterns. Climate change usually just refers to a rise in global temperature from the mid-20th century to present.
So, what is climate change then?
Well, Climate change is the long change in temperature and weather patterns. Climate can refer to a place or even the planet. So, climate change can cause weather patterns to be quite less predictable. This can make it difficult to manage and grow crops in places that need to farm because weather that should be expected on and rainfall can’t be counted on.
What are the effects of climate change?
The serious and bad effects of climate change are bad events such as hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, downpours, winter storms etc. All of these have very bad effects on the environment.
What happens in the polar regions? Well in the polar regions, the warm global temperatures related with climate change means that glaciers and ice sheets are melting quick throughout different seasons. This will impact sea levels rising in different areas on the earth. Combined with increasing waters because of rising temperatures, the rise in sea level has happened to damaged coastlines because of increased flooding and erosion.
I am going to now be talking about plastic that appears a lot in arctic snow and many other places in the world and just how bad it hurts the climate.
So u know how people throw micro plastics anywhere and are lazy to throw it away in bins?
Well a lot of micro plastics have taken over every part of the planet in our modern world. This includes areas such as the arctic. Even scientists are confused at just how this mass amount of pollution reaches areas to distant locations far from urban centres where it is made.
“A new study finds a surprising route for the tiny particles—they’re ferried aloft to fall in the Arctic as snow.”

There is a large amount of plastic fragments and fibers that land on top of ice floes in a place called the “Fram strait which is an un – populated big ocean which is between Norwegian Arctic archipelago of Svalbard and Greenland.
The study:
“Micro plastics (MPs) are ubiquitous, and considerable quantities prevail even in the Arctic; however, there are large knowledge gaps regarding pathways to the North. To assess whether atmospheric transport plays a role, we analyzed snow samples from ice floes in Fram Strait. For comparison, we investigated snow samples from remote (Swiss Alps) and populated (Bremen, Bavaria) European sites. MPs were identified by Fourier transform infrared imaging in 20 of 21 samples. The MP concentration of Arctic snow was significantly lower (0 to 14.4 × 103 N liter−1) than European snow (0.19 × 103 to 154 × 103 N liter−1) but still substantial. Polymer composition varied strongly, but varnish, rubber, polyethylene, and polyamide dominated overall. Most particles were in the smallest size range indicating large numbers of particles below the detection limit of 11 μm. Our data highlight that atmospheric transport and deposition can be notable pathways for MPs meriting more research.”
Plastic left on beaches and in oceans is very bad and we don’t know yet how harmful it is for humans it can be invisible and airborne (nano plastic) and enter our system but this is a case that we unsure of. However, what we do know is animals such as birds just walking around on a beach can easily get killed if they eat plastic as it is very harmful for there body same if a whale was to eat plastic it would literally kill them.
